FAQ’s about COP23 Fiji – Bonn 2017 with short answers
1. What is COP23 and what are its objectives?
It is the twenty-third Climate Change Conference. It will be held in the German city of Bonn, presided over by the Republic of Fiji, between 6 and 17 November 2017. Its objectives include fine-tuning the Paris Agreement, especially in the areas of technologies, greenhouse gas emissions and climate change mitigation, with a view to COP24 to be held in the city of Katovice, Poland, next year.
"2018 will be another important year for international climate diplomacy as countries move forward in implementing the Paris Agreement on climate change. In fact, in 2018 we hope to achieve several key achievements." Patricia Espinosa, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), said.
